The following scale-like density fluctuation occurs.

 

Cause

The charge neutralization capability of the charge neutralization needles of the paper transfer unit may decline due to aging and soiling, resulting in the paper being transferred in an electrically unstable state. When this happens, the static charge on the paper may be discharged on the paper feed path, causing the problem.

Condition in Which the Problem Tends to Occur

At low temperature and humidity

Solution

Clean the needles of the paper transfer unit with the blower brush.

  1. Remove the paper transfer unit.

  2. Remove the knob [A], and then remove the circlip [B] and bearing [C].

  3.  Remove the bearing on the other end, and then remove the paper transfer roller [A].

    Be careful not to touch the paper transfer roller.

  4. Clean with the blower brush in the direction shown.

    Do not rub in a direction other than that indicated by the arrows.

  5.  After cleaning, install the paper transfer roller, and then reattach the paper transfer unit to the machine.
